  • Grew up in Long Island, New York. Became interested in Ham Radio at age 11 and had my novice at age 12 and general within 12 months. Was running a Heathkit DX-40, homebrew 500 watt linear into a Hygain TA-33 Jr. Also had a dipole......1/4 wavelength on 80 meters. Got married at 23 and that was the end of WA2GMO until last year....Feb 2009 when I qualified for VK3GMO here in Melbourne Australia. Also into Motorcycling, computers and tennis. Cheers Jeff
