34th HAM Radio broadcasts from Friedrichshafen around the world Amateur radio exhibition from 26th to 28th June 2009 Special exhibitions to commemorate the 60th DARC Bodensee Meeting Youth programs and teacher training From Bodensee around the world: The HAM RADIO will be broadcasting across the world from Friedrichshafen for the 34th time. The exhibition grounds will become the meeting point for all radio enthusiasts between 26th and 28th June 2009. The focus this year is on the 60th Bodensee Meeting of the German Amateur Radio Club (DARC) which is staging numerous anniversary events. There will be a varied program specially designed for the younger visitors on Friday and Saturday. Teachers can look forward to practical tips for school lessons on the Friday of the fair. Our promotions this year, for example the extensive lecture program, are all tailored to this years motto The 60th Bodenseetreffen Amateur radio - diverse and exciting`; the preparations are all well underway, reports Stephanie Heine, press officer of the German Amateur Radio Club (DARC). The club has been a competent partner and sponsor to the exhibition for many years. In cooperation with the Amateur Radio Museum sponsoring society (AFM) and the Messe Friedrichshafen, the DARC is planning a special exhibition showing a collection of posters and historical devices in the foyer to commemorate the anniversary. Also, all owners of old-timer motorcycle sidecars are called upon to present their vehicles on a field-day exhibition on the outside grounds. With regard to the future of amateur radio, the 34th HAM RADIO will once again be organising numerous events for the younger generation: Kids and teenagers can experience the fascination of amateur radio at close quarters during the exhibition rally which is taking place on two days. In a special teacher training program, amateur radio enthusiasts will be providing ideas and tips on how to integrate the topic of amateur radio and electro-technology into practical school lessons. Around 17,000 visitors came to the fair in 2008 to find out more about the innovations in the amateur radio and electronics sector. http:www.hamradio-friedrichshafen.dehtmlenindex.php
